Bully of The Mind

Has your mind ever kept you up at night? Thoughts constantly racing, leaving you almost dizzy in discouragement and doubt?

Those kinds of thoughts remind me of the nagging words of the Devil as he tried to tempt/bother Jesus:

Luke 4:9-12: The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ”

Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

Just like Satan, disparaging thinking is a nasty bully! The words crowd our minds with negativity, leading us towards the wrong. Those bullies strive to make us doubt what God has promised us. Their goal is making us feel inadequate and useless in this collapsing world. How could we make any kind of difference? Negative thinking only allows us to lose sight of our vision and be swept away by painful emotions. What a bully…much worse than our lunch money getting taken away!

But thankfully that bully holds no power over us; we have a strategy that Christ Himself displayed! HE SPOKE THE SCRIPTURE! It’s difficult to fight a battle of thoughts with thoughts; we need to SPEAK! God’s Truth (His Scripture: breath of God) bears Heaven’s power and can defeat the enemy of oppressing thought designed by a bullying Devil. His Word is the LIGHT, and light will ALWAYS cast out the darkness!

Let me give you one more piece of truth: Romans 8:31 states, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” GOD IS FOR YOU!!! In the end, we have two choices: 1) Let our thoughts beat us. OR 2) Let our God build us!

What’s your choice?! REMEMBER TO SPEAK IT!
